Azhwan's Sri Sukthis

Azhwan being the master of all the Vedas, 4000 Divya Prabhandham, works of other Aacharyaas, etc., created five different stavams (five different composition of slogams) named "Panjastavam". Even though the "Vedas" happened to be the master of everything in this world, it is not easy to understand the meanings for several versus of the Vedas. That is where, Azhwan "Panjastavam" gives an insight into the various in-depth meanings from the Vedas. If we depict "Vedas" as a girl, Azhwan's Panjastavam is the "Maangalya Soothram" for her. Even if "Veda" girl has got lot of other ornaments in various parts of her body, this Panjastavam is the most important ornament, the "Maangalya Soothram". Those stavams include the following.

• Sri Athimaanushastavam - It explains the glory of various incarnations of SrimanNarayana (namely RAMA and KRISHNA)
  
  
• Sri Varadharajastavam - It explains the glory of Lord Varadharaja and it ends with an explanation on how we can reach the lotus feet of the Lord through Sri.Ramanuja.
  
  
• Sri Stavam - It explains the glory of Sridevi Naachiyaar.
  
  
• Sri Vaigundastavam - It explains the Vaigundanathan and the associated glory
  
  
• Sri Sundarabahustavam - It explains the glory of ThirumaaliurmSolai Azhagar.
  
  

As part of this 1000th year, we have worked out the following agenda based on Azhwan's panjastavam.

• Upanyaasams that explains the meaning of "Panjastavam" slogams.
  
  
• Release of MP3 CD that captures the Panjastavam in the format in which it is being sung in temples - We are planning to involve the people who know Panjastavam by heart (Sri.Kooram Veeravalli Bashyam swamy and Sri.Kooram Veeravalli Krishnamachariar swamy) and ask them to recite it for our recording. We will record them in MP3 format and release them during 1000th year festival.
  
  
• Release of MP3 CD that captures the Panjastavam in the format that can be used for learning Panjastavam versus and committing it to our memory. We will do it in the format that is being used for teaching Panjastavam to us. Teaching is split into three phases. In first phase, each line is split into four parts to the WORD/SMALL_PHRASE level; which will be taught by the teacher. In second phase, it will be a bigger phrase (may be half of the line) and in the third phase, it will be a LINE level. Like this, we will record the complete Panjastavam in three phases and release them in two MP3 CDs. Until now, Sristavam, Varadharajastavam & Athimaanushastavam Sandhai murai have been completed and a MP3 CD was released during the part2 celebrations in Jan2008.   Panjastavam Upanyaasams: Fortunately, or unfortunately, the "Panjastavam" is written in Sanskrit. Even though it is very easy for Sanskrit scholars to understand the Panjastavam, it is not easy for people who don't know Sanskrit. Hence, Sri.U.Ve.Velukkudi swamy planned a four year project (starting from year 2006) and started implementing it since then.

  Sri Athimaanushastavam Upanyaasam:
  In the year 2006, he completed the upanyaasam of Athimaanushastavam at Calavala Kannan Chetty Charities building in Chennai-600 001. Three MP3 CDs containing 36 hours of lectures were released during Sri.Koorathazhwan's festival in Feb'2007 in the PART_1 function of 1000th year celebrations.

  

  

  

  Sri Varadharajastavam Upanyaasam: In the year 2007, he completed the upanyaasam of Varadharajastavam at Kanchi Thevaperumal temple. The complete upanyaasam of Varadharajastavam happened in the 100 pillared Mandapam in Kanchi Varadharaja Perumal temple. Four MP3 CDs containing 48 hours of lectures were released during Sri.Koorathazhwan's festival in Jan'2008 in the PART_2 function of 1000th year celebrations.
  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  Sri Vaigundastavam Upanyaasam: In the year 2007 itself, he started the upanyaasam in the same CalavalaKannanChettyCharities building in Chennai-1, and he completed in the year 2008 in the same place. Five MP3 CD set has been released during Sri.Koorathazhwan's festival in Jan'2009 in the PART_3 function of 1000th year celebrations.
  

  

  

  

  

  Sri Sundarabahustavam In the year 2008 itself, he started the upanyaasam in the same CalavalaKannanChettyCharities building in Chennai-1, and it will be completed before the 1000th year festival in Jan'2010.

  Sri Stavam - Velukkudi.Sri.U.Ve.Krishnan swamy has planned to do the upanyaasams from 20th Sep 2009 until 24th Sep 2009 at JaiGopal Karodia school in WestMambalam at 6.30pm. It is planned to release this CD during the 1000th year festival in Jan '2010.
