SRI KOORATHAZHWAN's 1000th YEAR MAHOTSAVA CELEBRATIONS - PART2

Sri Koorathazhvan Sahasra Varsha (1000th thirunakshatram) falls on thai hastam during the tamil year "VIRODHI" (english year Feb - 3rd 2010). As a part of these celebrations, Sri Koorathazhwan's charitable trust is organizing lot of activities w.r.t Sri.Koorathazhwan 1000. Last year (2007 Feb), we organized the first function during which the following activities had been taken over.

1. Athimaanushastavam upanyaasam MP3 CD release (upanyaasam by Sri.Oo.Ve.Velukkudi Krishnan swamy).

2. www.kuresan.com internet site launch.

3. Taking pledge to "FOLLOW AZHWAN", as per the 10 kattalais given in home page.

This year, we have organized the second part of those Mahotsava Celebrations on Jan26th'2008. The agenda for this function is as follows.

Date : Jan26th 2008, at 11am in the morning, at KOORAM.

UPANYAASAM: SRI Oo.Ve.Velukkudi Krishnan Swamy , topic " AZHWAN KAATIYA VAZHI'

AGENDA:

1. Varadharajastavam upanyaasam MP3 CD (4 CDs) release by Jeeyar swamy (upanyaasam was conducted by Sri.Oo.Ve.Velukkudi Krishnan Swamy at Kanchi in three phases)

2. Varadharajastavam, athimaanushastavam & SriStavam - Sandhai murai MP3 CD release by Sri.Oo.Ve.Velukkudi Krishnan swamy.

3. Sri Koorathazhwan 1000 - FREE EYE CAMP

Kinchitkaram trust and Hindu Missing Hospital are jointly organizing free eye camps in Kooram and the surrounding 10 villages (populatio of around 14000) starting from 26th Jan 2008 till Feb 3rd 2010 (Sri Koorathazhwan's 1000th thirunakshatram date). Based on eye checkups, people with CATARACT will be selected and they will be FREELY operated for cataract. Inauguration will be done by Sri.D.K.Srinivasan, Secretary, Hindu Mission Hospital on Jan26th 2008. The first eye camp will be conducted at Kooram on Jan30th 2008. It will continue till next two years till Sri.Koorathazhwan's 1000th thirunakshatram.

4. Upanyaasam by Sri.Oo.Ve.Velukkudi Krishnan swamy on "AZHWAN KAATIYA VAZHI".

All are welcome to attend this function and get the showers of Sri.Koorathazhwan. Sri Koorathazhwan's annual festival is happening from Jan19th till Jan28th'2008 (Saathumurai THAI HASTHAM is on Jan28th). All are welcome for that too.

Varushostava Details:

Daily purappaadu is there in the morning at 8am and purappaadu in the evening at 8pm. Daily thirumanjanam is at 2pm, followed by thiruppaavai saathumurai. Udayavar thirukkolam is on Jan24th morning 7am, THIRU THEAR is on Jan27th and the saathumurai is on Jan28th.
